Residents are diverse and include young professionals and people who have lived in the building for more than 30 years! An owner’s Board Meeting is held every year to vote on the Board of Directors, which oversees the finances and maintenance of the co-op. The building is pet friendly, and includes a communal basement with washing and drying facilities and bike storage.

Located in the bustling Logan Circle area, the DeSoto is a stone’s throw from the P Street corridor of shops and cafes and 14th Street’s ever-transforming array of bars and restaurants.  The DeSoto has seen many changes come to the area since it was founded in 1904 with 25 apartments and a dining room. Various owners renovated the building throughout the twentieth century and at one point, commercial businesses occupied the first floor. In 1964 the building was converted to a co-operative apartment building in its current state, with 31 units and a basement apartment. In 2020-22 the building underwent major renovations, with a full HVAC and roof replacement, façade refurbishment, as well as exterior and interior painting.
